The Twentieth century and the beginning of the Twenty-first is a period of never-ending mass attacks on human life: The First World War, The Second World War with the terrible crime of the Holocaust, criminal communist revolutions, mass abortions, euthanasia, terrorism.

According to reliable estimations in the Twentieth century and so far in the Twenty-first over 1 billion unborn human lives have been killed.

Mass killing of unborn children started in the last century, after "the legalization" of the crime of abortion by the communist genocidal leader W.I. Lenin, in The Soviet Union in 1920. The second leader who partially legalized the crime of abortion was Adolf Hitler. In 1936 this criminal introduced into The Third Reich the "law" allowing the killing of unborn children with defects or diseases. Practically speaking, in the Nazi Third Reich the crime of euthanasia started to be mass practiced.

The second half of the Twentieth century brought the legalization of the crime of abortion in many countries.

God – the Life Giver and its only Master – gave us the Fifth commandment "Do not kill" and on the pages of the Bible he enclosed a very dramatic warning: "Your brother's blood is crying out to me from the ground!" (Gen 4, 10).

In this special place, in the world's Center for God's Mercy in Cracow, Lagiewniki, aware of the size of the blame but also of the power of God's Mercy we do not fall into despair, we do not lose hope but with faith we call: "Jesus, I trust in You".

Consistent Life, Voices for Peace and Life

Consistent Life (formerly called Seamless Garment Network) is a network uniting many organizations and individuals who support the consistent ethic of reverence for life, as expressed in our Mission Statement.

Our work is spreading the consistent ethic vision throughout the community, our nation and the world. Some major ways we do this are the placement of ads in national and local publications, and exhibiting at conferences. Many ads have consisted simply of the above Mission Statement, followed by the names of some of the many people committed to peace, justice and life who endorse this statement, although more recently many ads have explained what we stand for and resources we have available without the lists of endorsers.

We have about 200 member groups which include activist groups on the various issues that make up the consistent life ethic, groups made up of particular constituencies, and faith groups.

What are we trying to achieve? A revolution in thinking and feeling, an affirmation of peace and nonviolence, an infinite gentleness, a value for the life, happiness and welfare of every person, and all the political and structural changes that will bring this about.

Who We Are

The Population Research Institute is a non-profit research group whose goals are to expose the myth of overpopulation, to expose human rights abuses committed in population control programs, and to make the case that people are the world’s greatest resource. Our growing, global network of pro-life groups spans over 30 countries.

Our Mission

Debunk the myth of overpopulation, which cheapens human life and paves the way for abusive population control programs

Expose the relentless promotion of abortion, abortifacient contraception, and chemical and surgical sterilization in misleadingly labeled “population stabilization,” “family planning,” and “reproductive health” programs.

Defund these programs by exposing the coercion, deception, and racism inherent in them.

Emphasize that people are the most valuable resource on the planet, the one resource we cannot do without.

Promote pro-natal and pro-family attitudes, laws, and policies worldwide.

Encourage programs to help the poor become agents of their own development.

Estructura y objetivos:

Instituido por el Beato Juan Pablo II con el Motu Proprio “Familia a Deo instituta”, el 13 de mayo de 1981, día del atentado en la plaza de San Pedro, el Pontificio Consejo para la Familia sustituyó al comité para la Familia creado por Pablo VI en 1973.

El Pontificio Consejo para la Familia es responsable de la promoción del ministerio pastoral y del apostolado de la familia, aplicando las enseñanzas y orientaciones del magisterio de la Iglesia. Las familias cristianas pueden ser así ayudadas a cumplir su misión educativa y apostólica, como respuesta a la realización del Evangelio de la familia en el mundo contemporáneo.

Al Dicasterio le corresponde la tarea de coordinar y promover los esfuerzos pastorales de cara a la procreación responsable y de animar, sostener y coordinar las iniciativas en defensa de la vida humana en todo el arco de su existencia, desde el momento de la concepción hasta la muerte natural.

Otros temas candentes entran también en la esfera de competencia del Consejo: la teología y la catequesis de la familia; la espiritualidad conyugal y familiar; los derechos del niño y de la familia; la formación de laicos comprometidos en la pastoral familiar; los cursos de preparación al matrimonio.

El Dicasterio se ocupa también de otras cuestiones, como la demografía, la contracepción y el aborto, la esterilización, las cuestiones éticas y pastorales concernientes al sida y a los problemas de la bioética; la legislación relativa al matrimonio y a la familia, a las políticas familiares y a la tutela de la vida humana.

El Arzobispo Vincenzo Paglia es, desde el 26 de junio de 2012, el nuevo presidente del Pontificio Consejo para la Familia. Fue nombrado el 4 de marzo del año 2000 Obispo de Terni-Narni-Amelia. Su inmediato predecesor fue el Cardenal Ennio Antonelli, presidente emérito. El Comité de Presidencia está compuesto por 18 Cardenales y 7 Arzobispos y Obispos; 20 matrimonios procedentes de todo el mundo, son miembros. El Dicasterio se sirve también de la colaboración de 40 Consultores y del trabajo cotidiano de 15 Oficiales y de numerosos voluntarios.

Desde 1994, a petición de las Conferencias Episcopales, el Pontificio Consejo ofrece cursos de actualización para Obispos y trabajadores pastorales sobre “Familia, vida y cuestiones éticas”.

Desde 1994, Año de la Familia, el Dicasterio es responsable de la organización de los Encuentros Mundiales de la Familia, llevados a cabo en Roma 1994; Río de Janeiro 1997; Roma 2000 en el contexto del Jubileo de las Familias; Manila 2003; Valencia (España) en 2006; Ciudad de México 2009 y Milán (Italia) en 2012. El próximo Encuentro Mundial de la Familia tendrá lugar en septiembre de 2015 en Philadelphia, Estados Unidos.

En 1996, el Pontificio Consejo para la Familia puso en marcha la publicación de la Revista cuatrimestral, “Familia et Vita”, que recoge artículos de Obispos y expertos sobre los temas que entran en el área de competencia del Dicasterio. El Consejo ha promovido numerosas publicaciones, disponibles en diveros idiomas, sobre temas concernientes a la familia y a la vida.

Cabe recordar el nuevo “Enchiridion” sobre la familia y la vida, editado por la Libreria Editrice Vaticana en 2012, y el poderoso volumen de las Actas (800 páginas) del VII Encuentro, llevado a cabo en la ciudad de San Ambrosio y de San Carlos.
